Not getting the SMS verification code in China?

An app won't register because the SMS verification code never arrives.

Try this now

Check that roaming is on and you have signal, then wait a couple of minutes and tap resend.
Turn your VPN off while requesting the code, then switch it back on afterwards.
Enter your home number in full international format, including the +country code.

If that doesn't work: If codes never arrive, set the app up on your home network before you fly, or use email verification where the app offers it.
