WeChat asks an existing user to vouch for your new account, or locks it during sign-up.

- Wait 24 hours before retrying — brand-new accounts are rate-limited.
- Ask a friend whose WeChat is 6+ months old with a linked bank card to scan the verification QR.
- Use the exact phone number and SIM you registered with — mismatches trigger the lock.
If that doesn't work: Can't get verified? Lean on Alipay for payments — it doesn't need friend verification for most foreign users.
